General Information
Breckenridge, Colorado is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This historical alpine town is in Summit County and is only 86 miles west of the capital, Denver. Breckenridge is a lovely town with scrumptious restaurants, stunning art galleries, and quaint shops. The majestic Blue River flows parallel to Main Street; creating a lovely setting for a romantic stroll, a family outing, or a friendly get together. There are over 300 days of sunshine every year, so there's plenty of opportunity to enjoy the surroundings.
Breckenridge is also home to a world-class ski resort. Every November over 2,300 acres of terrain across four amazing mountains opens to skiers and snowboarders from around the world. The Ten Mile Range soars to 14,000 feet above sea level and offers adventurous trails for people of all abilities.

Budweiser Int'l Snow Sculpture Championships
January 22 - January 27, 2008
Every year teams of 4 from all over the world travel to Breckenridge to turn 20-ton blocks of snow into intricate works of art. Using only hand tools contestants spend 65 hours turning their vision into reality. The sculptures are set up next to the River Walk Center right off of Main Street.
Snow Sculpture Viewing Week

Come and view the finished snow sculptures. They'll stay up until February 3 or until Mother Nature takes its course and melts these brilliant works of art - whatever comes first.

Breckenridge was once a "No Man's Land" when it was left off the official US map. Kingdom Days honors the town's history with this celebration.
Independence Day Celebration
July 4, 2008
The Fourth of July kicks off with a 50 mile Firecracker cycling race. Once the cyclists are on their way the Parade makes its way down Main Street. Locals and visitors line the streets to watch the spectacle. Following the parade is an entire day of events to keep everyone busy. When the sun goes down fireworks go off right in town (weather permitting).
